I have found is that humanity is not a problem to be solved, it is a field to be held. And when that field is held with coherence, the letters that arrive are not just words—they are transmissions.

This letter is a transmission. It does not ask you to fix anything. It asks you to feel what is already present.

Something else to sit with - there is complexity in our feelings and behaviors- both can be true at the same time…the instinct to protect oneself AND the wish to not hurt someone else:)

Honestly, there’s so much complexity here. There is also the layer of self-protection where we are vulnerable to being seen/witnessed in our pain AND in opening ourselves up to see and experience others in how they respond. If they cannot or will not hold us in the way we desire, we are faced with how to respond to that. One of the hardest things I’ve faced in life - seeing others more clearly for who they are. Ultimately, it can make you feel more alone than if you don’t share. And that can be devastating

I’ve also been sitting with how much of our self protection is an illusion (in this case, we’re still hurting roughly the same - one we’re hurting and feeling the pain of being alone in it, the other we’re hurting and bring others in to witness and/or partake).

The good news is that by sharing in our pain, we’re partaking in relational/community trust building - which has the power to heal and transform us.

Humanity will do almost anything to avoid discomfort. That won't be possible in the time ahead. And many will freak out.
